Sampoorna bamboo Kendra (SBK) started working in Melghat (Dharni and Chikhaldara blocks of Amaravati District, Maharastra) since 1995 with aim of providing employment to local youths based on Bamboo. Sampoorna Bamboo Kendra (SBK) started training programme and production activity and also promoted a artisans cooperative for marketing of Bamboo Products. Sampoorna Bamboo Kendra (SBK) is involved in developing various aspects of the bamboo sector from artisan skill up gradation to building & designing low-cost bamboo housing to marketing of bamboo handicraft products. Sampoorna Bamboo Kendra’s ‘Viswakarma Vidyalaya’ aims to generate eco-friendly and sustainable rural employment through training and skills up gradation in the Melghat tribal region, an interior area of Maharashtra where such training does not exist. The employment generated leverages both local renewable materials and local man-power, hence employing rural India in a responsible manner, a sort of eco-friendly employment. Sampoorna Bamboo Kendra started work in the Melghat region.

The entire Bamboo Center has completed 25 years of work in Melghat. 2019-20 The work of the institution has expanded in this year. Our fast is to educate the people of Melghat for employment and to connect more and more people with employment. It has been completed this year.

The movement methods of Gram Gynanpeeth have also been progressing. Throughout the year, many activities were taking place in the village Gynanpeeth. This work has strengthened the relationship of artisans, workers with the local society and supportive friends. Everyone's collective resolve has increased towards Melghat.
